like a computer they can be hacked, no way would I ever put myself in a car with no driver.
as for the uses, they are many and some very deadly imo.

There are times when I'm on the road between calls that I'd just love to have a little catnap - like on 52 between St Paul and Rochester - it's only an hour and a half but DANG I want to go to sleep on that last half hour.

They said if the car become reality old people will be able to remain independent and stay in their homes on the average of another 5 years. I say perfect the technology.

If the technology was bulletproof it could dramatically improve the quality of life for lots of folks, if it's not then oh my what a cluster it will be.

More than unsettling that a computer algorithm will determine life and death decisions in an emergency; but sure would like to leave the house at 10pm and have the truck drive me to Falcon while I sleep
Would rather a robot drive me around than a teenager or any of the people texting and driving

Within 5-10 years, there will be self-driving trucks using a proven technology. There are already proven industrial applications using driverless trucks
Long haul trucking is ideal for driverless vehicles

What about all the people in the DWI industry? The cops, lawyers, judges, probation officers, people who sell breathalysers, teach MADD classes, places that depend on community service workers, etc? It's gonna be horrible, I tell ya!

Tests have shown the self driven vehicles to be 100% safer than humans
One article said there had only been one accident and that the human driver was at fault.
