Have a cabin booked at the family resort in May and plan on dragging the boat with me. Only have been there once and that was years ago. Any tips on bass fishing/navigating this lake? I do remember there be a lot of stumps out there, which I'm assuming are still there. Thanks!

We stayed in one of there cabins some years back and enjoyed our stay. HCL is very stump and there is a large shallow area in front of the boat launch. I recommend fishing with soft plastics. Be careful.

Thanks for the info. Do you remember if there was any particular part of the lake that was safe to run, or is pretty much stumps throughout?

If you don't know the lake, I would run slow everywhere. There is a path from the park west to the dam but it's not marked. I never run on plane going east from the ramp. Just be careful until you have been on it several times.

Playing the devil's advocate, people drive rebar into the tops of stump, then slide a piece of PVC over the rebar to mark the stump. This is a good-hearted plan because so many stumps are broken off right at the water level. Unfortunately, either other people remove the PVC or it just somehow comes off, leaving the bare rebar. Then the rebar becomes a boat slasher.

Pretty much what I was thinking from the looks of it. Have a feeling I can smack them on a watermelon red trick worm texas rigged.
