Congrats on moving to God's country . You're gonna love it. Dad always used Linseed oil on farm tools but that would probably cost a small fortune for a fence . Check out the big box stores ( Lowe's , HD , etc.) for wood-preserving stains .

Make sure you put a kickboard on the bottom of the fence in a water resistance 2*4 or larger to keep water from wicking up the pickets

Ready Seal like others have mentioned. I use it on all my clients fences and it last 2-3 years longer than other stains. Spray on with a pump up sprayer and have someone follow with a roller. Easiest way is to rent an airless sprayer from HD and spray on. Cuts time down by 75%. I've never tried twpstain like 410man mentioned so I can't compare to it.

flood oil base CWF is the best I have ever used. just make sure it is oil based not water so it can penetrate.
on a fence it should be good for at least 5-7 yrs with no problem, spray from about 3' back with a good fan tip and let it soak, 2 applications same day works best (dirs. tell you not to but it works good on cedar and redwood since they are like sponges)
