Went out to visit Lake Raven from 7-12pm to see how the spring bite was doing. The lake level is back up and it looks like some of the dam work is nearing completion. Vegetation is starting to grow back, but it is not grown in as thick right now. Lily pads are few and far between as well. Water was tea-colored. Fish didn't want to chase any topwaters, frogs, cranks, or even Flukes. The key for me was a green pumpkin 7" Senko TX-rigged fished just on the edge of any vegetation. For some reason, the fish wanted to bigger presentation and weren't touching anything smaller. Adjacent sides of wind blown points as well is where I could find them. Had 5 that I landed, lost one at the boat. Nothing too big.

Excellent Report Are the Big Redear and Bluegill in the shallow water preparing to spawn?

Thanks for the report, Did you see any new hydrilla? I seen some vegetation last time I was out there about a month ago, looked like some sort of pepper grass alog edges

I didn't see any Redear or Bluegill spawning, just old bass beds. There were lots of little baitfish popping along the shorelines though, so maybe they're feeding up.

Yeah, there was some sort of peppergrass-type vegetation along the shoreline. Just enough to keep clumping up any weighted presentations like T-rigs or drop shots.
