I need to get a lake maps card for my 898C. I've never purchased any before. Is there a particular one for my unit or will the latest one do? Just lookin for some direction. Thanks!

Both Navionics and Lakemaster if you can swing it. But for the most part Navionics seems to have the best detail for the lakes I fish especially on Benbrook and Whitney. You can look at Navionics by going to the Navionics webb app. And look at the detail for all the lakes you fish

I think it just takes the sd card style. The navionics Webb app? I have the navionics app but it's on my phone and I'd like it to be on the graph. Unless I'm misunderstanding you.

Ok. The webb app is pretty much the same as the map card. If you like detail and it is accurate for the lakes you fish then I would go with it, if I was only gonna get one. All the latest cards come with the micro card and adapter. Your 898 will take the micro card with the adapter in either of the two card slots in the unit

I have a Humminbird 899 and use the Lakemaster Mid-south sd card and love it. It has all the Texas lakes and more in very good detail.

On lakes I fished, I noticed there are more contour lines on the Navionics than Lakemaster as well.

Navionics has a cleaner more flowing look to it. The lake master charts are more cluttered.

I have both and fish eagle mountain most of the time. lakemaster is almost useless due to being not accurate for eagle mountain. There are humps on lake master that are 100 yards off for Eagle Mountain. Much prefer
navionics.
