Wondering if it's ever going to slow down. Seems it blows a little lighter during the week then, bam!, back gusting again for the weekends. mad

How much wind does it take to keep you guys off the water? Or do you just lean into it and somehow find a spot?

This is going to be the norm as long as these storm systems keep coming in every few days. For me, 15mph is too much, but then again I am in my tube.

If it's out of the north 10-15mph. Not much sheltered brush on Bardwell when it is out of the north.
Now out of the south is a different story. I've fished Bardwell when it is 20mph out of the south. But usually don't go if it's forecast at 15mph or more.

I got up to go this morning but changed my mind. Forecast of 15-20 mph winds and gust up to 30 mph are keeping me home. Thunderstorms are forecast for the afternoon as well. Under 15 mph doesn't bother me, 15 to 20 is doable for me but depends upon other variable also.

Called Spring in Texas. They usually settle down more by late May into the Summer. That is all. bolt

Yep. Some scattered big ones late this afternoon N of I-20, then later this evening or near midnight S of I-20 and mostly along and east of I-35, though shouldn't be near as bad. Much cooler this weekend due to a strong, late season cold front that arrives Saturday morning.

Guess it's a good time to be working graveyards.

Like this every year. One of my favorite post titles of all time I saw on this forum was " ding dang wind on my day off". I still laugh about that.

Wind was really bad on PK yesterday. Between that and minn kota spot lock trying to ram me into docks while I boat fish made it a busy day.

That's funny. Was your TM having to fight the wind and overcompensating on you? I was wondering if that happens. Seriously considering a new MK with spotlock.

Nitro: Minn Kota Spot lock works well in open water. You have to give it time to wander around before it will hold you in the right place. I understand the Motor Guide units do a better job on this.

30 mph is when I'll stay away. Was out on GV today and it was rough but still found some protected spots and bought some nice crappie.
