Wow, that might be the worst game warden story ever.

I like it. 'Commercial' fishermen have to pay for removing the resource. For the rest of us, just use a smaller container. I'm not sure why they exclude guides though. Are there a lot of guides that catch bait in one body of water and take it to use in another?

I'm just going to lie and say , I caught the shad here where I fish and I took them home now I'm bringing them back to where I fish" problem solved . And toes in the water can still "like " this stupid new rule implemented to gouge us fisherman.

How are you going to enforce it. Law makers continue to waste their time and our money on useless laws that can't be enforced.

Anybody know where I can get a nice clean white plastic 55gal. drum? thinking I might make a 20gal bait tank to replace the 30gal one I'm using now.

I guess I'm dumb, as I don't really see the point to this law.

As a private angler, I catch bait on the lake I'm fishing (why bother netting shad somewhere else?). This law does not apply in that case.

Sometimes I'm lazy and will just buy a large quantity of shiners from the wholesale bait shop & they use their treated water for the transport container. Again, this law does not apply in that case.

I know some guides will gather bait at water body A, and use them at water body B for their guide business. They're exempt under this law, so again, it does not apply.

Who exactly is the intended target of this law??

Maybe they figure they are already banging the guides for enough $$$ for their license, which would be surprising. TPW has never banged anyone for too much $$$ in their opinion. Ask them what happened to the sporting goods sales tax we pay. That why it frosts my butt every time TPW holds out their paw wanting donations for money to operate.

Gary is retired now. He was our game warden here in Jack County for a while until retirement. Good guy IMO.

So how are they going to tell the difference between tap water and lake water? Even Lavon water looks clear in my bait tank. Are they going to start pulling people over that have bait tanks in their boat? Not sure that GWs need probable cause. Heck my livewells drain pretty slow. I do not sit aound the parking lot waiting for them to drain. I normally only fish one day a week and the boat sits in the back yard in between trips. I am wondering who is going to get nailed first. Myself or my neighbor that leaves his livewell full when he leaves the lake.
