Any advice on whether to fish the breckingridge park area? Which of the 3 little lakes? Is the creek that runs around there any good? If not anybody have any suggestions for good little bank fishing lakes/ponds/creeks in the north dallas area? I guess im mostly looking for good bass places but enjoy it all.

I've fished the pond that runs under Renner. Never did great but did catch a nice drum once. Lot's a bullheads and bluegills. The pond just east of that one certainly looks fishy but I've not tried it before. Seems like it gets less pressure since there isn't parking right beside it.

Yes, the east pond is probably better. There are good-sized bass there, and a few more snakes since there are few people walking around, only an occasional fisherman.

...Go get'em!

I have fished all 3 ponds. The long skinny one under renner 3 times. I have not had any luck... It is probably the Indian not the arrow but no luck for me!

I have been told by a couple of other fisherman who know the area better than I do, that the pond that runs north and south and goes underneath Renner Road dried up a few years ago, then it refilled. There are probably some fish in there by now, but not many.

The East pond is on the south side of Renner, just a couple hundred yards further east, going towards Murphy Road. You can see it from the bridge while driving.

There are bass in there. Maybe we'll run into each other. I'll be there this weekend weather permitting.

Addendum: I've heard there are bass in the smaller "park" pond, but I've never fished it.

A few years back I fished nearly every public pond in Collin County at least that I know of lol. I hit all 3 of those ponds a few times. I always had my best luck at the pond inside the park by the soccer fields. The creek had fish but access is linited and the banks are steep. The long pond under Renner did nearly dry up in 2014 but in 2015 the creek (Rowlett Creek) flooded so high that you could not even see the ponds. I can only hope it moved some fish around from the creek and other ponds and maybe restocked them naturally. I never had any luck at the east pond but I have seen a few big ones caught there and my buddy caught his PB there. The pond inside the park had been decent to me. Lots of huge carp in all those ponds. Its been a long time since I went there.... good luck yo anyone who goes. You never know what you might catch.
