Is soft plastic glue the same as super glue?

I don't think it is the same stuff. Supposedly it won't stick to you but it will stick to the plastics.

I carry the single use super glue in the boat...

I use this stuff. It comes with a squeeze tip or a brush applicator. I like the brush.

Put it on my swimbaits and worms so they won't slip down the hook, especially on the Alabama Rigs.

I used to find super glue gel every where, It was great on plastics, and worked well for fletching arrows. I guess they quit making it.

Big Lots usually carries Loctite gel.

Walmart in the automotive and hardware sections usually has loctite gel and sometimes the Gorilla glue gel.

PVC pipe cement works perfect on soft plastics.

PVC pipe cement and Pliobond are as close as you can get to Mend-it.

There is a new mending device out. Can't even find it now; but haven't looked very hard. It is like a big marker pen. Has a cap covering the hot wire loop or it retracts upward out of the pen. Battery operated. Melts the plastic and mends it back together quickly. Fits in you shirt pocket like a pen.

Is it a pen sized, battery powered soldering iron?

I've used soldering irons to fix baits, but Mend-it does a cleaner job. Wish it was more widely available.

Yes it is. I had a guy in Mexico that had one; but was fishing another boat; so I did not get to witness it's use. I assumed it was just a hit off of the one Bass Pro sells that does not have the pocket clip so it want fall out into the lake if kept in a shirt pocket. I believe the coil loop retracted out of the nose of the pen which activated the hot wire. It was very neat.

The worm welder works great. I have used one since the early 80's.
