the premiers are good for an entry level rod, but if you will spend a little more money and get the avid, its worth it.

Avid is out of the budget. I need 4 or 5 to outfit a spare boat. I want to compare to a bucco, mojo bass, and similar rods. I have one st croix legend and love it. Thanks, JD

I have fished premier, mojo, legend tournament, and legend extreme. The premier rods for entry level rods are nice. I have had premier PC66MF I used for pop-R for probably 8-10 yrs. Great value for the money. I have had a few mojo rods in 7MHF that I used for plastics. The main difference between premier and mojo is full cork handle vs partial and a few more $$. Not sure I would step up to mojo for extra dollars. The warranty is the same.

You have a legend tournament and love it so you know what you are getting. Lots of choices and you get a lifetime warranty but you will pay more. They are also lighter than the lower series rods.

My partner has several extremes in addition to the tournament series. The extreme rods are very similar to tournament series but again even lighter and a little more sensitive than tournament series. They cost $$ but also hold their resale value.

I have never fished an Avid series but for the money would likely buy tournament series for broader selection unless you are a full cork handle guy. They do have the lifetime warranty which is a plus over premier.

My 2 cents, bottom line on a budget you can't go wrong with premier series if you are o.k. with 5 yr warranty.

Ranger Z520 and Arctic Fox 990 my second homes :-)
