I just bought a HDS gen 3 with 3D scan. My question is can I pair a HDS 8 gen 1 unit with the 9? I know the 3d will not work, but what about the structure scan and everything else?

Yes. I have a gen 3 and a gen 1 linked all through an Lss-1 and a sonic hub. Each can see the others' transducers. If my trolling motor is down I can use it's transducer to see what is under the front of my boat from the Gen 3 on my console.

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."

Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!
