A buddy and myself were over close to the Lavon dam today so we thought we would just drive down to the fishing area beloe it. Just for grins. When we got to the road that takes you down to it we were greeted with the dreaded iron gate. Why in the world would they close this?

Likely they will be releasing water and some folks are not smart enough to head the warning of the siren............

Like the sirens in mythology ..... they are attracted to the horn and end up in a death situation.

In my opinion only.

Doubt any release is coming from Lavon anytime soon as stated above.

Yeah it's not cause of a release. They are awfully stingy with Lavons water. Maybe it's because of what appears to be a pretty good leak in the dam where they did some tree cutting and earth moving last year. Last time I was down there it was still seeping water... Which if I'm not mistaken.... Is not good.I mean I'm not an engineer but it looked pretty much like the leaks on Lewisville they were working on and so concerned about a while back.

still in line...........see a leak in a dam and I don't want to be down stream. My point is you have to protect people from themselves.
