I live in north Texas and have bass fished most of my life and have recently discovered in the last few years how salt water is worth the drive for the action. I purchased a Mako 18LTS this winter and plan to bring it down to Galveston as much as I can. I'm planning a trip for early June. What I'm looking for is a guide for a day to as much as possible show me a few things about Galveston Bay and the jetties. Less fishing and more navigation, safety, local advice, if that makes sense. Not looking to steal any honey holes just trying to be smart and safe since I didn't grow up in that area and I'm trying to stay off the evening news! Any leads on who would be good, or willing, for this is much appreciated.

Im in the same boat as you. Did you get any good tips on where to go. I walked way out on the jetty Saturday. Water and day were perfect but didn't get but one bite. Don't understand it.

I had reached out to a few guides but when I'm going in the summer seems to be their busiest time of year so no one really wanted to go out in my boat...at least for anything less than $600. Sucks you went out on the jetty and didn't have any luck. I've done some wade fishing and from piers in the canals for trout. I think the jetty is a different story. Seems most people free line shrimp or croaker out there right next to the rocks. Better luck next time!
