Went out for a couple hours this morning. Noticed several (at least 7) dead crappie washed up on the bank. Anyone have any thought as to why this would've happened? Initially, I thought it might have been because of the rain yesterday, and the water turned over, but they looked older than just 24 hours; just a thought.

Were they all short? Maybe gut-hooked/released or bad culling practice. flame

Out of the 7 or so I saw, only 1 or 2 weren't keepers.

Could have been from dumping of crappie at Crappie Masters Tournament. It might have taken a while for stressed fish to finally succumb.
