I have an Xi5 trolling motor that is creating interference on my Lowrance HDS bow unit. RF chokes etc...have not worked. I have "heard" that running a ground wire to the trolling motor skeg will eliminate the interference. Apparently you attach the negative ground wire to any bolt/mount on the skeg and then attach it to a negative terminal...other than your trolling motor battery terminal. As long as the ground wire touches the water...the water grounds the tolling motor and eliminates interference. Has anyone done this?

The xi5 should have the ground wire ran in the inside. Pull the top of the head off and there should be a fuse inside that is inline on this wire. I don't have an xi5 but have been thinking on trading up

When I set mine up, I recalled a comment on not running the xi5 wires near the Lowrance wiring for interference. I just remember that, so you may want to ensure that the wires are not near each other. Good luck

One 10-pounder is better than ten 1-pounders; but 100 1-pounders is ok too!
