I had the funniest and freakish fishing trip ever the other day. This kid here is my 2nd cousin Sean from Virginia. This was his first time crappie fishing. Our first stop this morning wasn't productive so I told Sean I was going to move us to a little brush a few yards off the bank. While approaching the sticks I explained to Sean how and where to drop his jig. After a few drops near the sticks the cork suddenly disappeared and Sean was fighting a nice size crappie. As I went for the dip net while also coaching him on how to get the fish away from the brush I saw a flash of something fly out of the water and land on the deck hitting my feet. I jumped to the side shocked and Sean looked like he was about to jump overboard on the opposite side of the boat. His dad was yelling WTH and then we realized a bass was flopping on the deck. I swear the truth to the good Lord! We all about fell out of the boat from laughing so hard. I have never seen anything like this in person in my entire life. This Bass weighed in at 5.2lbs and Sean went on to catch several more fish for the day. He will have a fish story to tell for the rest of his life.

I've had a bass jump in the boat twice on back to back trips in the exact same spot on Lake Somerville. I swear it looked like the same bass too. I had told my buddy about it when I went by myself and it happened with him in the boat the next time. He said they saw my boat coming and just gave up.
