Got a late start due to inaccurate weather forecast...started around 8:30...had the entire lake pretty much to ourselves...saw 2 other boats all day. Great fishing until 12:30 when the storms moved in...had to sit in the truck for 3 hours...but got back on the lake around 3:30 and fished til 7:30. Fished with old friend Robert, and ended the day with 86 bass. Would have had well over 100 if not for lost time due to lightening. All caught on 7.5 inch Culprits, and a few on bass assassins. Water temp 76-79 degrees...

Awesome report! I haven't fished Fayette before, thinking about taking my son and his college buddy when they come home this weekend, what colors work best?

I use a color called tequila shad, which is a dark shade of purple with a silver shiny belly. Right now I think just about any color that imitates a shad will do the trick...

They are literally biting everywhere, but here ya go. The water intake area between the intake and the concrete dyke, the park prarie park ramp to the back of cove, all 6 tree fields, and the cove behind buzzard point all produced fish...hope this helps...s

Not sure if I'm more impressed by yall catching 86 or actually being able to keep count up to 86. LOL.

Thanks for the help, we had a great trip! My youngest caught a PR 5.5 lbs, on his Zebco 33! Used sexy shad crankbaits, worms, best luck with sweet beavers in watermelon and black/blue flake.

I had an ok day last Wednesday. Put 53 in the boat. Biggest was 4-1/4 pounds. Somewhere around 20 to 25 of them were in the three to heavy three range. Fun day to say the least. The others were heavy two pound fish. I haven't taken the boat out in some time, so this trip was just what I needed. I've been doing the white bass spawn fishing thing for the past three months though. I sure didn't catch as many of these this year like I did last year, but at least I have some fresh fish in the freezer.
