The fishing has been good to great the last couple weeks.Surface temps still 63-65 and we still have been battling heavy winds most days and it seems every day they want something different...a different depth in the the water or in a totally different location but we've been getting it done. The lake has fluctuated up-and-down quite a few times the last couple weeks as well get rain and it will rise up and then They open the floodgates and pull it back down it's frustrating but we have no control over that.I do understand they're paranoid floods but to drastically fluctuate lake levels in the middle of the spawn is never a good idea in my opinion.I have been using my new SIX GILL rods and reels and I am very pleased with the results. If you're looking for affordable light high-grade rods and reels check them out and another good note is one thrown in the lake they float :-) I also had the pleasure of having Brian the cofounder of mystery tacklebox aboard my vessel not only was he a great fisherman but he gave me a mystery tacklebox :-)
We are looking forward to top water explosion soon have been trying every morning not much to show for it but anytime it should start. Now it's picture time :-)
