Formula Bono and I hit the water early today as well as one of my best friends not on here. We were quadrupled up for most of the day. Some of the biggest on average we have seen all season and so late after the mild winter. My friend that joined is finally having a back surgery Monday he has waited on he tapped out early in pain but really glad he made it. He caught a ton of fish and quick now he is down six weeks. We caught almost every thing in the river but minnows gar and carp. Several nice striper including a beast right at the end of the evening. Crappie,gills,buffs,cats,lmb,goo,and don't even want to calculate how many sandbass. Mateo was a late arrival at around 4 the three of us were about ready to tap out when he got there but then we got our second wind. Mateo stopped counting at 100 a few hours in and we didn't leave till 8pm. And leaving them biting is an understatement. Such a weird year Bono was there yesterday and hooked into his biggest striper of the year but that was it a hookup. Then today it's as far polar opposite as it can be. Stunning day on the river watching kingfishers diving and egrets tring to learn from the pros lol. Just another day in fishing nirvana!! Mateo sums it up best world class fly fishing. Two thumbs and six fingers that bad or worse says it all. We catch enough we dont dare thumb them but grabbing over the head and having to use pointer finger to get engulfed clousers out of the roof of the mouth because they are eating so good leads to gill plate wounds lol. When they eat like that even with floro need to retie every 50 fish or more or you loose flys or even worse a good fish.

Jamie you have no idea I have been fishing the spot 15 years and we've had great runs were we had numbers like this for a month but I have to say that may have been the single best day I've ever had just because of the nice striper mixed in. The sun moon and stars had to be aligned just right yesterday. We were truly blessed with an amazing day.
