I've been using PP on my baitcasting reels for years, and I love it. I had a cheaper brand of BPS braid on a small spinning reel, and it was awful. I moved up to PP on my spinning reels, and so far it's just wind knot city for me. Does Windtamer make a substantial enough difference in the lack of knots to move up to it? I plan on throwing a lot of 1/16-1/8 jigheads with paddletails with this rig. It's either this or P-Line 8 lb monofilament. I'll be putting the line on a Nasci 2500 paired with a 6'6" medium rod. Thank you for your suggestions and input.

Wind tamer is all I throw. PP causes terrible wind knots halfway through a day with brand new line. Wind tamer I get numerous numerous trips before I have any knot issues.
I can backlash toilet paper.

Make sure your roller in your bail is smooth and easy, that's your biggest culprit of wind snots. And don't over fill the spool.
I couldn't tell the difference between the wind tamer and power pro, other than the PP seemed a little more resistant to getting cut on oyster shell.

I prefer Power Pro. PP seems to cast a little better for me and a little more distance. The Windtamer is a little stiffer in the beginning, but limbers up after fishing with it for a while. I haven't had any wind knot trouble with either on my spinning reel.

Thanks for the tips guys. I went with 10 lb P-Line flouro coated mono. I've really enjoyed the P-Line. I've used the leader material and the flouro coated mono with good success. It seems to be much stronger than the line rating advertises. I've had no problem with slot reds using the 8 lb. It's easier to manage than braid, and I'm just more comfortable throwing it. Confidence is key.

OK, I have used power pro and windtamer and I can tell you this. Plain ole power pro will give you wind knots every time you turn around. Windtamer is great at not causing wind knots but it is a little bit stiffer. I switched to power pro super slick 8 and have not ever gone back. The super slick line is closer to being round than regular power pro and the coating makes the line come off smoother. I also believe that it is not as stiff as windtamer. I have not gotten a wind knot yet using it. But like Pat said, be sure not to over fill the spool, that causes more than one hoop at a time to come off the spool and you are just begging for a wind knot. Just my opinion.
Life is one big playground. Be sure to ride all the rides before it closes.

I've been using Power Pro since 1994 and wind knots have not been a problem for me personally.
PP superior sensitivity is another plus about it that rarely gets discussed.

Make sure the braid is tightly wound on the spool. Power Pro and Windtamer are both top-quality lines. The PP Slick 8 and Sufix 832 are hard to beat, but regular PP and Windtamer are both great lines.
