had a elite 7 and just replaced it with a hummingbird helix 9. World of difference. The hummingbird is far superior

I have an elite 7 and love it. It has mapping and down imaging.

I have an Elite 7 HDI. Bought it used for $400, feel like I came out on the winning end of that deal. It shows me want I need to see to catch fish. If you need to see if the fish is taking a dump or not, then you'll have to step up to the "far superior" units.

The Elite and Elite TI are not the same. It's very misleading with similar names, so that's probably why they rebranded the Elite series to Hook. The Elite TI is a great unit. Great images, fast and responsive toich screen.

Does the elite TI have downscan too or is it just sidescan and sonar?

I had an elite 7 and thought it was great until I got a hummingbird helix 9 side scan. It changes everything. It is so much better than down image, it makes down image look like black and white compared to color.

The TI has both si and true di with the totalscan transducer. Best value per feature on the market. It's basically an HDS gen2 with an upgraded CPU.

I like my elite 7 i use it up front for down imaging only was cheaper than buying a lss setup for my front hds. Gives me what i need to know. Im sure there are some new nicer features on the ti but u wont be disappointed in an elite7. However for scanning si very helpful cover more water quickly

I have an Elite 7, the DI and Sonar and good, but the GPS is not good, the GPS is slow responding, I can not run with map zoomed in because it can't keep up. Im looking for a unit in that price range that I can zoom in the map and it will keep up with the boat. Anyone know what that unit would be?

Elite 7 TI is basically the older HDS 2 with slightly less resolution in the screen. Can't speak for the processor speed but I have no issues with either of mine. With that said, I wish I would have held off and bought the 9 or 12. The sidescan detail is better with the larger screens.
