I have citicas already and like them all but the newest I have is a 200G. The reason I mention it is because I have heard bad things about the new Citica and Curado models out now. Who has used them and what did you think? Also what does everybody think about the 13 Fishing Concept A and how does it compare to a Shimano Curado or Citica?

all i fish with is shimano and have multiple citicas and curados, new and old, all i can say about them is i love them. i have owned a concept a and hated it, needs to be overhauled after one season (and would sell it to you if you wanted it for cheap). I also am rough on my equipment though. Shimano still holds up no matter how tough i am on them, i have been fishing with one of my chronarchs for 3 seasons now and it is still one of my favorites, and my curados and citicas still feel as if they're new and this will be the second season I've fished with most of them

Shimano has discontinued the Citica/Curado G series and now makes the Citica I and Curado I. They are very nice reels, but you will need to oil the i series reels every 3 or 4 months for optimum performance. That is all explained in the paperwork that comes with the reels. I have 3 of the curados and really like them. There are very thorough reviews on both these Shimano reels on TackleTour.

Get the concept A, I have a citica I and the Concept A and its way better than the citica. In my opinion you dont get what you pay for with shimano. If you can find an older citica id get that those things cast a mile.

My local reel repair guy dissuaded me from buying anything 13 Fishing. He has seen several come in. They perform well it off the box but don't last long. He has a lot of experience and has no bias. He explained for about 10 minutes the reasons not to buy them.

I have a Curado I 200HG and it's great. I also have a new Lew's Tournament Pro G arriving tomorrow

My local reel guys have quick servicing the new Curados. In fact anything after the D's. He likes Lews.

Heck, if we are naming GREAT REELS, I have 14 200B reels, including a couple of SFs. They are pretty much indestructible, but hard to find poarts for, I am told. Don't know, because I never have had to replace any parts on them. They DO come available on Ebay or on the TFF classified section occasionally, normally around $90-$100 bucks. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I counted and I have 7 Curados and 1 13FCA. Both are fine reels and you can't go wrong with either. For longevity my Curados are pretty much set and forget; I've had some for 10 years and never serviced them. The 13FCA I have is on its 3rd season and just isn't any nicer than the Curados so I just kept buying Shimanos.

The reel I've been surprised to the upside is the Abu Revo SX. It doesn't feel as solid as the Shimanos and I can't imagine it will last 10 years, but casts very well. I would say every bit as good if not slightly better than the Curados actually. I bought one on sale for under $100 and liked it enough to buy 3 more.

As I said, I bought one 13FCA and don't imagine I will ever buy another.

Hands down citica or curado over 13Fishing concept a. I have a curado i. Great reel. Have had it since they were released. No issues at all. It is a workhorse. Theres not much diffrnce in thencitica and curado and curado can be had for like 129 or cheaper now. Still use the E series stuff tho. I bought a 200E Citica witj boca bearings for 75 bucks a cpl years back. Put a curado handle and knobs on it. Love that reel

As an update: I took my Lew's Tournament Pro G out as it is far superior to the Curado 70&200I. I'm going to get rid of the Curado and get another Lew's

It is really really hard to go wrong when a Shimano Curado 200IHG is 139$ online, no tax, free shipping. I am not sure how anyone could say "they aren't worth the price". I have a 70XG and 200IHG and they are the smoothest reels I own. Shimano customer service is top notch as well. Anything goes wrong, call them and they will hook you up.

I' switched from Shimano to 13's last year. I've got A's c's and e's. They are all better than the newer Citica sand Curados in my opinion. Smoother and a way better drag.
