BVFC Meeting will have Tobin of Trout Support as the guest speaker Thursday night April 6 at 6:30 pm. 79 Bayou Vista Dr. Tobin will talk big trout tactics and have cd's available. bring you own refreshments. open to the public. if you're in the area, come on by.

the site(bayou vista fishing club) still has 2016 stuff on it. i'll see if someone can update it. our annual fishing tournament is coming up Memorial Day weekend. adult division is $30, kids to 12 yr and teens to 16 are free. more info on the bayou vista site.

Is this a Club ONLY tourney or is it Open to the Public?

it's open to the public. this will be our 21st year. really a good time. thurs, fri, sat and sun. weigh in every day at 5-7, except sun it's at 12-2 and the ceremonies at 3. dogs, cookies and drinks for everyone. we raise money for the kids side and the adult entries help with the kids prizes also. kids have 8 categories with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each. prizes are rod/reel combos for 1st and 2nd and usually a tackle bag for 3rd. adults have several categories with 1st-$300, 2nd $200 and 3rd-$100. also black jack trout, most spots on red and a one place only hard head. lady angler of the day is $100 a day. go to "bayou vista web site and click on summer festival. should have all info there. entries can be dropped at city hall during office hrs. cash or check. you ought to try and make this. it's fun and a great way to spend time with your kids. about the only time i can get mine off the phone.
