Well well well we finally got the rain we needed at the right time. Bono fly, formula and I had an epic day we have waited for today. We have had a ton of amazing days already but today was on another level! Glad I'm off again tomorrow for round two Amazing the amount of fish that have FLOODED the river over night still some floaters coming down and very dirty water. The fish didn't care at all and were really heavy on the feed. We caught a bit of everything carp crappie bluegill lmb few nice striper and hundreds and I mean hundreds of sandbass. 7-8 clousers were completely destroyed and changed because there was nothing left but a hook. We had a solid three hour stretch that we all three caught a fish every cast that was an insane stretch! If you walked up a little and the fly was touching the water you caught a "trolling fish". I had five or six time I tried to roll cast and the fly didnt turn over I couldn't figure out why till the fish that ate it before it turned over took off lol. We had perfect weather beautiful skys ospreys flying over looking for fish and Untill the last few minutes of the day just us three slaying the fish. We looked around thinking man this much fun should be illegal. There was a big hole that that people saw stringers right by the road and that place was a combat zone for real wow they were shoulder to shoulder in there. I sure wasn't going to to tell them that the fish were nose to tail and fin to fin for ten miles and have them spread out. That would ruin the very rare solitude at this spot lol. in fact I don't remember a day ever that we had miles and miles of water with this many fish and every other person on the river was in one hole. We left them biting every cast at almost dark.

Today was almost identical exept for the stiff breeze few more carp ton hundreds of sandbass and two more striper!

Mateo Bono fly and I had our fill of fun. Mateo was a late arrival and still managed a world class outing. Bono and I may need a few days to recover at that feel like I've got tendinitis coming on and a plethora small cuts and places worn raw on the fingers.

I would love a day like that. Congratulations!

Yes by far the best two days of this years run. Being such a weird year we have been on fish since Christmas. We have had a ton of fantastic days you got close to or just over 100 this year. Those where all day affaires with lots of moving and work to get there. This was like taking candy from a baby. At least five times today Bono dropped the clouser back in the water to release a fish lifted his rod to cast and had a fish on that hit it falling right at his feet. Most cast you could just cast down stream and let it sit there till it got engulfed.

And thanks guys I'm pretty sure formula said that was his best day ever on the fly.

Thanks j_hirn I took the go pro and tripod today walked in and the only pinpoint counting I did was 35 fish in the first 37 cast in just under 20 min. Then forgot to set up the video. Had a sweat ring from the chest pack when I left. Mateo and I are talking about setting up several go pros with a drone and doing a real time video and alternate thru the different angles. You could do a full hour show real time right now. My memory on the phone is so overburdened with sandbass only pics today was striper and carp. I need to go wipe off a bunch of sandbass pics to take day to day ones. I've caught so many already this year I'm to a point of seen one seen them all unless your on the Sabine that is lol.

I keep thinking I will use the go Pro to show some of the days when it's a real real weird presentation to get them to eat. Sandbass can be very technical at times especially early in the run. Bono fly Said it best yesterday when Mateo got there though. when Mateo ask what's the presentation or special twitch for the day. Bono fly Said all you got to do is hit the water Lol. When it's like that there's not a whole lot you could teach anyone because it's more like fishing for bluegill with a cane pole. I think formula must have peeked thru his blindfold because he is out there this morning. Have not heard how he is doing as he does not get reception there.

After the rain we got almost every single tributary and most secondary tributary(creeks) in north Texas are chocked full of sandbass. Find a bridge over a creek or river if cars are parked everywhere that's where to be.

went out yesterday and maxed out with some healthy ones,two nice sized striper...took the gopro so have some editing to do..filmed an Osprey fishing and doing well
