Has anyone had to deal with the whitetrash launching and driving their 16' flat bottoms with full outboards doing doughnuts and racing from 16 bridge to the spillway!!! Been fishing on and off at the Brazos for the past 15 years and last Friday was the 1st time I've ever seen that, defiantly a 1st for me.

No, but I've almost been hit by an airboat or two - the RiverRat in particular. Heaven knows they might lose 10-15 horsepower if they ditched the straight headers and just put mufflers on 'em.
I've also been stalked by curious locals all the way down into 4' of water. Surprised the chit outta me when I heard a noise behind me and turned around.
Your bound to get these encounters if you toss flies long enough. I guess if you didn't have a bad experience every now and then it wouldn't make much of the great ones.

Funny you mention that, but a couple of weeks ago i was out there and was fishing a run just below the damn when a couple of young guys in a flat bottom with (I think) was a 40 hp outboard came flying through on plane on their way to the dam. Completely did not care that we were wading and fishing...literally went straight across our lines. Beats all i ever saw. I dont know how far they actually made it, but i cant imagine they made it all the way to the dam.

I haven't had any close encounters but have seen a few people putting boats in. Last year I was fishing the hatchery hole (the one about 1/4 mile up from the bridge), and these two guys came roaring upstream into that hole. They proceeded about halfway up the hole over two the west side..........and then pulled up right on the bank. They sat in that spot the whole time. They could have walked to that spot!

I was out there last Friday and saw that boat. It stopped just as it got to the top of the fast water below the deep pool below the spillway. They fished there about 5 minutes and then headed back south. Maybe they were awestruck by my expert casting skills and decided to not interrupt me.
