Spring time fishing has been GREAT so far. Been hitting a lot of creeks and catching plenty of fat Bluegill,Green's,and Large Mouth Bass. Fish have moved into the shallow water and are holding close to the bank by brush piles and root beds. Worms with both float and bottom techniques were used. All fish were released to fight again. I also saw a lot of fish on beds. Some spring time fishing chasing sunnies. It just don't get any better! fish

Nice post, Chuck. thumb I'm glad we have so many creeks in the area to help us avoid the upcoming tube hatch.

Nice ones as always Chuck. Sunfish bite has really picked up on both rivers and creeks. Been nailing a lot them. Spawn is on.

Side Note: Going to be getting some heavy rain tonight and tomorrow. Will this effect the bite and spawn? What is your take?

Thanks Curtis for the reply! thumb As for this latest rain event the local area here in the San Antonio area got about an half inch. hmmm I heard that the Cibolo Creek in Boerne is flooding and that Boerne got a lot of rain. eeks Also the area of the upper Guadalupe River got hammered as well as Canyon Lake. hammer All this water will make it's way down stream causing very fast current. I think a lot of eggs will be washed away. San Marcus got over six inches of rain. nuts It will take a few days for some fishing spots to settle down! taz

Side Note: On the bright side the water bodies are going to be in GREAT condition all summer long! clap

Nice fish and post Chuck. Looks like a great year ahead. How has the trophy Redear hunt been going? Any signs of the big ones?

Thanks Gitter for the reply. Been catching a lot of Redear in the 8 to 9 inch range. As for the trophy size 10" plus they have been few and far between! hide2
