Ok, i lost power to 2 outlets in my master bathroom that are downstream of a GFCI. I checked the GFCI line in and load out and both are hot, but the next outlet in the circuit is dead on line in and load out, so obviously the next outlet is dead as well. I went ahead and changed out the GFCI and i am getting the same result. The wire connections that tie in the first outlet to the GFCI seem sound. Im stumped, its like the wires have been cut between the GFCI and the first outlet. There is also a garden jet tub on this circuit but its never used and i belive its at the end of the circuit but im not sure to be honest.
Any thoughts? I dont think any vermin have chewed thru the wiring.

If you can get your hands on a meter, ohm out each wire individually. Could very well be that your hot is broken.

Go back to that first gfci and start over. And check for a tripped breaker. I've never had a wire go bad on me after wiring a house, or heard of a mouse chewing up romex.
Cast I have a short attention spa

Can you?
Flip the breaker off.
Remove GFI and connect load in and load out wires (hot) and cover with electrical tape. Turn on breaker and check the two downstream outlets.
He is truly a sick individual.

Did you make sure each the wires feeding into the GCFI were connected to the proper places?
I'm just asking to be sure.
I had a friend call me with the same exact problem. The hot wire feeding into the GCFI had white paint over it. He mistook it as the neutral wire and wired it backwards. After swapping the wires, all outlets were good.

Remove GFI and connect load in and load out wires (hot) and cover with electrical tape. Turn on breaker and check the two downstream outlets. this first, bypass the gfci and make sure your downstream is hot. could be too that you have a bad plug on that first connection, try changing it out too.

Good info guys. Whats weird is the load side of the gfci is hot, the next outlet line in is not. Thats testing the wires not just the connections, it just doesnt make any sense.

when you check the line in to the plug (not gfci) where are you grounding the meter?
could your ground be interrupted and you are not completing the circuit?
plug an extension cord into the first dead plug, take it back to the gfci, use gfci ground to check for voltage from plug.
I would not run hot back from the gfci thru the cord to the plug, avoid the chance of a problem.
other than a wire being broken that is all I can think of that would be a cause.
wait, one other thing, could there be any other plugs on other walls in other rooms on this circuit? mayhaps there is a dead plug on an opposite wall in another room? is there by chance a switch in the circuit?

If you have power going in and out of the gfi then there is probably another device before the dead plugs you have. Could be in garage, master closet, under the deck of that Jacuzzi tub or an exterior plug.
I hate photobucket.
