I guess they are blisters, but is it just blistering the bottom white paint or is it worse?

Looks like it was originally red and painted over without priming, proper preparation, first? I know nothing about boat paint and gel coat, just a guess. I'll bet the guys at Classic Fiberglass can tell you exactly what's going on.

I bought it used. So, you think the white was maybe an anti-fouling layer that was painted over the original red gel coat? And I guess if you dont prime it, you can get blisters?

Very odd indeed, strange how all the spots seem to be symmetrical and roughly the same size.

Chris97, please let us know what you find out after talking to a glass shop. I've never seen that.

I sent the picture to a shop. They said it looks like a bad bottom paint job in addition to leaving the boat in the water too long. Red gel coat looks fine. Sand and new bottom paint is all it should need (sigh of relief).

It looks like enamel sprayed over the fiberglass.

the bottom was not 100%clean it is from leftover silicone from polish,wax very common the refinishing world............

Something tells me your wallet is about to take a hit.
