Has anyone bought a 2017 or 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 ? I am looking at the Sierra with the Elevation package and was wondering if anyone has any first hand experience with this truck. Any problems I should be aware of?

Its a great truck and you will be pleased with its performance. If you have any questions or want to know specifics, give me a call or shoot me a message.

My Son In-law purchased a new 2017 GMC truck 4x4 and he loves it. He has a 20' bass boat he tows and is happy with everything on his truck so far. But for me, the real test of anything is time. Most new products are great, but how do they hold up after many years of service while being properly maintained? Any GMC truck owners who have had a truck for 5-8 years? What do you think about it?

I hate chrome and want a 6.2 not 5.3. Does GMC make a model with the 6.2 and color matched grill and bumpers? I hate chrome so much I blacked out the badges and devil horns on my Tacoma.

I had a 2004 Silverado for 10 years. Never left me stranded anywhere. Total repair bills I spent during the entire time I owned it are less than a few hundred bucks. Other than that, just oil changes, coolant flushes, air filters, spark plugs, and transmission fluid changes. She ran like a champ.
Not the best gas mileage or the most power, but really reliable. That being said, GM has gone backwards on reliability through the years IMHO as engines have gotten less mechanical and more electronic.

I have 125k on my 09 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT. Great truck, I love it. No major issues, but the dash started cracking around 65k, it's a common thing on the GM trucks made around this time.
Could use a little more muscle, but no complaints being a 1/2 ton. Pulls my boat comfortably. I do have 305/55/20 nitto mud grips which hurts the mileage quite a bit. On the computer I avg 13.6 mpg.. real world I probably get about 14.5 avg, 8 pulling my boat.
All in all I love it and will probably go with a Sierra 3/4 ton next time around.

Had a 2011, I sold it with about 50k miles on it to my uncle. I still do the maintenance on it. He put a new set of tires on it at 63k miles, its got about 75k now. Only thing fixed on it so far is an alternator under warranty (it was overcharging).
TXMako, if you want a 3/4 ton that's up to you, but the 2014 and up motors have about 50 more horse power and more torque than your current truck does. Also what gears you have could play into that as well.

I wonder if All Terrain is the GMC version of the High Country? I would not buy a High Country because I know it has blocks under the leaf springs and I am willing to bet it has spacers in the front.

My son just bought a 2017 Sierra with the elevation package. Sharp looking truck. I don't like washing cars enough to buy a black one tho.
