So I just recently found a spot in my area that has LOADS of carp in it. When I tried to fish that day, I couldn't go two feet without seeing one carp. Anyways, I've heard of people using carp for various fish, but I'm unsure. What kind of fish is carp cut bait good for?

Blue Cats will eat it.

A lot of fishermen like to cut it up into chunk-size baits, and them soak a day or so in Dead Red. One thing about using carp, there is no shortage.

back in the 60s-70s my uncle used salted carp skin as a trailer on jigs for bass and on big lead heads for stripers. at least that is what he told me

I was told by an old cat fisherman that buffalo was as good a bait as you could use for catfish, he said it was full of oil.

If you handle carp correctly it is a wicked effective bait source
It needs to be tenderized for maximum effect.

Soak the cut carp in garlic and grape jello. Leave hook tip exposed.

Really, cut carp is one of the best catfish baits by itself.

Bunches near shore in the spring means 2 things, spawning and shoulda never been imported. grin

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.

Teach a man to fish, he will sit in a boat all day and drink beer.
