Travis and Austin maybe..Even though Travis is a bit smaller than Conroe. No guarantee on water level, plus SXSW rules March for 3 weeks.

The classic was awesome in Minute Maid and expo at GRB. However there are to other lakes that fish better (more consistent) than Conroe. They held the high and college tournaments at 1 of them. Yep. Good old lake Houston. It's big enough and doesn't turn into the gulf with just a puff of a breeze. Then we have Livingston. I remember back in the 80's and 90's bass use to hold tournaments there (think twice). But I guess it might be about the money cause Conroe definitely has it over there. Lake Houston is less than 12,000 acres. Conroe is 21,000 and was one of the smaller Classic venues. Lake Houston? You're dreaming. I agree...that ain't happening

Lake Mud(Houston) would be a terrible classic lake.

I think the 2016 BASSfest on Texoma was a test to see how a future Classic may turn out.

IMO both lake Houston and Livingston are mud holes. The first time a classic angler ran aground in the middle of the lake at lake Houston would probaby be the last time. Not enough dock space anywhere on Livingston to run a classic.

TTBC already proved RayBob and Frisco won't work. Or, should I say the local community proved it with the dismal turnout? TTBC was their own worst enemy. They charged $25 just to look at the exhibits, where I understand the Classic Expo was free, and at TTBC they only had a few vendors and many of those were not even fishing related, more like MetroPCS selling phone plans and insurance companies. TTBC made the bonehead mistake of not using the stage for the weigh in and then used the corner of the field. Which suxed for viewing for the spectators. Add to that not many anglers brought any fish to the corner stage, and a hillbilly concert to follow and it was a horrible event and the planning and stage layout was horrible. Bring a good event and people will come out, bring a poor product and people will stay away TTBC proved they were there own worst enemy.

I've heard some strong rumors about San Antonio Not sure if serious..... While SA certainly has the spaces for weigh in and expo, what lake would they fish? Medina? Choke? Falcon? Amistad? Canyon?
Team wolfs I had to perform. It took a minute to get it all in my mouth and another five to swallow it all.

Falcon and Amistad are 4 hours away so that has to rule them out. If we were going to use that criteria Rayburn could be into play for Houston at 2.5 to 3 hours out. Canyon is a little over 8,000 acres. Now you get down to Choke which has been a pretty weak fishery for the last 8-10 years but everything else meets the needs for BASS. Medina is 5600 acres if full but was at less than 10% capacity in 2014.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

I've always wondered it there were any fish in there. Best way to find out, IMO!
