This question always comes up in sports such as football, basketball and baseball. When a team or person has a lead going into the last game/inning/quarter, the question comes up; Did the person/team crack under pressure or did the other person or team just rise to the moment. I am a big fan of Brent Ehrler would have bet money on him for the final day. However, what a impressive effort by Jordan Lee; 27 pounds, 4 ounces. Just think, two classics in row with similar situations where on the final day, someone overcomes the odds and wins. You gotta love bass fishing. Any day, any tournament , there can be surprise winner or as they say in Football Any Given Sunday.

I agree 100%! I was on Ehrler Saturday and Sunday with a camera guy and he just did not have the bites Sunday. He is a great fisherman.

My heart broke for Ehrler; I was positive he had it in the bag. Lee was experiencing boat issues that kept him in that spot and, boy, did he get some fish. And only a few years off the college tour, too. Amazing. I'd love to know where that spot with all the sunken tires is located. Anyone know?

Up in Weir Creek where our place is I got to see a few pros go by: Bobby Lane a few times, Skeet Reese and a couple others whose names escape me. Those boats are, for the most part, very, very nice but a few I saw didn't look much better than my Triton except for the wrap-jobs. Sure is a hard way to make a living though.

Ehrler didn't choke, he caught 5 keepers on a lake that was tough to do so on. Jordan Lee had a day to remember. I wish they had the ability to have a video of his day.

IMO, it is hard to relate other team sports to fishing, it's you against the fish, not head to head

Ehrler didn't choke, he was one bite away from winning it. I really thought he would get a five or six in the last little bit and win it. Lee just had one of those days and it was meant to be. Ehrler will get one though, he's to good not to

I agree that it hard to relate other team sports to fishing, but we as society use the same analogy towards golf and other individual sports. Kudos to Jordan Lee for one heck of a bag

I was Ehrler's driver from the boat yard to the weigh-in Sunday afternoon and he knew he didn't have it in the box. Said he was two pounds short and turns out he was. He was super disappointed, but said there was nothing he would've done differently- He just didn't get the one quality bite he needed. I don't know how, but I believe all of the "super six" knew for fact that Jordan had won it before we even left the boat yard.

Because while waiting, they kind of compare notes on who has what in the livewell, then do the math in their heads as to who won. And no, Ehrler didn't choke. Had Jordan not lost a lower unit and been forced to stay in one area and slow down, he may not have won, either. The stars aligned and it was his turn.

Ehrler caught a lot of fish, had a 3 lber jump off on a spinnerbait mid-day. Not sure if it would have gotten him there. The guy is a good fisherman, like others said, he just did not get the big bite to put him over the top.

As to Jordan Lee, he caught fish on that spot Saturday.

It was definitely a Conroe kind of tournament, the 16" limit got a bunch of them.

I was Jordan Lee's Marshall on Sunday. The motor problem had nothing to do with him
staying on that one spot. He planned to stay on it all day. He told me did not have anything else.
I was also with him on practice Wednesday and it was the place he caught his first fish in all of
the practice days. Two 5 pounders on back to back cast.

Sounds like he found a great spot! Thanks for the first hand perspective, Skeeterbrain.
