I spoke with the guys in the Z-Man booth yesterday and got to see the new Jack Hammer chatterbait. I was impressed. We all know that Brett Hite has been using the Evergreen Jack Hammer, only available in Japan. If you're a big bladed jig fan such as me, you've been wondering how Evergreen is going to get this bait to the US market with the Z-Man patent? Well, the answer is it's the Evergreen Jack Hammer, in a Z-Man package that retails around $15. I still have 20-25 of the Phenix baits I was able to buy 5-6 years ago. I'll continue to use the Phenix bladed jigs but I'm glad to see the Jack Hammer available a year or so after first hearing about it. Tackle Warehouse Link

I'm sure some folks will spend the money but no way I'm paying $16 for a chatterbait.

I assume the $15 price tag is how both companies make money. And products from Japan tend to be pricier than domestic products.
