It's funny that no matter how busy I am, I always seem to be able to find time to fish. Even if it's just for a few minutes. I was pretty close to the San Marcos river at lunchtime today so I decided to skip Whataburger and get a line wet instead. It was still too windy for a beginner like me to use the fly rod, so my weapon of choice was the trusty spinning outfit/Roostertail combo. My very first cast was just below the falls, and it was hit immediately by this bruiser: I tossed him back in the river and just as quick as I could get in the next cast I got his brother: After a few more minutes I wasn't getting any more action, so I moved a few yards upriver and caught these two: That would up being the pattern for today. Catch two fish, move upriver for a few yards, and catch two more. This is the way I like to spend my lunch break. Fish were caught on a chartreuse and orange Roostertail, and released back into the river to fight another day.

Thanks Psalty for the comment. What an awesome calorie burning lunch experience. I need to burn as many calories as I can, the work pants are getting a little tight!

I can relate. I really enjoyed the pic of the LMB. The scenery would make a great postcard.

You have one FAST camera! Thanks Chuck! It's from my iPhone. It has a feature called "Live Photo", which is basically a short 2 or 3 second video. I had to spend some time on Google to figure out how to extract individual frames. Awesome action photos that is a very cool sequence Thanks Wildman! I like action sequences too, I got really excited when I figured out how to get the individual frames.
