I was wondering what you guys like to use for Rod holders when bank Fishing I am using these cheep y sticks I got a Walmart I like them because if it gets windy I can lower them so the tip of my pols is not so high in the air but I had a fish take one of my pols last night I got the pole back and the fish so I'm looking for something more secure but I don't like the tube holders that have the tip strate up in the air

Ditto what varnoldi said except I usually use closer to 3 ft of rebar in case I need to drive it deeper. I would go with 1/2 inch rebar rather than3/8 -- just seems a lot sturdier. Also, if you go that home made route, make sure that the top of your pvc is about 2 inches below the top of the rebar so that you can drive it down with a hammer in those cases where the ground is on the hard side. You can even stagger 2 pieces of pvc on one piece of rebar and make it a double rod holder.
Live each day like it's your last because one day you'll be right!

I make my own by tack welding 14" long 1-1/2" pieces of galvanized electrical conduit to 18" long pieces of 1-1/2" angle iron. I also run a 2-1/2" machine screw through the bottom of the conduit to keep the rod butt from getting down in the mud (and the mud from ending up all over my shirt). I have eight of these that stay on the bank permanently and some have even been underwater for months at a time when the lake level rose. They are pretty indestructible. I've only ever had one get pulled partially down unattended, so now if I leave the rods, I tie them in with a piece of strap and a tent stake just in case.

I use monster rod holders bankmaster. Has a t-bar with 3 holders and spikes to put in ground. Very very sturdy. The best bank rod holder I have ever used.

Similar to varnoldi I used angle iron and 1" pvc bolted together. I used rebar but it didn't work for me it kept swiveling around but the angle iron is solid. It is harder to push into the ground though.

I am in the process of doing some day bankholders , glad you posted this . Definatley a must for fishing with multiples, I was at Lloyd park on Tuesday and almost had my rods pulled in by 2 nice size catfish. I am going to also add something that I can clip a rod leash to just to in case!

2 foot piece of rebar connect to a 1 foot piece of PVC held together by 2 hose clamps. That's the way to go. This works as good as anything. If the ground is real hard, I'll lug a cinderblock down to the water and wedge my pole butt in one of the holes.
