What's the story and how big do you think it was?

Co angler knocked off a fish with the net after I spent about 30 min sight fishing her...we didn't speak much the rest of the day.

Would have went 12+

Looking back now, I should have just grabbed her.

How would someone know that?
Just big is about the only correct answer.

You just asked a bunch fisherman to guess the weight of the biggest fish they lost? I know a guy that looses an 8 or 10 lber every tournament

A couple weeks ago at Fork my dad and I realized we had left the net in the pickup. We agreed to finish fishing the pocket we were in and head back to the pickup to get it. By dumb luck, he hooked into a double digit fish just minutes later. He was attempting to throw a spinner way up under a dock but hit the front of the dock and the spinner fell right on her nose. The fish jumped twice on the way to the boat and came to the top of the water in front of the boat, then got loose just before I could grab her. It was definitely a double digit fish, I'm thinking at least 11-12 lbs. Would've beaten his previous PB by about 4 pounds. Definitely a lesson learned that day, the net works a lot better in the boat than in the pickup!

Fishing Fork down by the dam. Throw a big swimbait as far as I could then stuck the rod under my arm to take a leak. Finished my business and started to reel and felt something on the other end. Set the hook and the fight was on. She jumped out of the water 5 or 6 times. My buddy has the net ready and she came up about one foot outside the reach of the net shaking the biggest head ive ever seen on a bass and spit the hook. Her silver dollar eyes haunted me for months. I wouldn't doubt if she was one of those hidden 15lb plus bass. It was like slow motion on TV the last time she came up and then broke my heart. I think about her every time I take a leak on the lake.

10-pounder, possibly 11#....I was 'Fork-stumped'!

It's always so hard to tell but I feel like the biggest fish I've hooked was on Fork. Throwing buzzbait outside of some grass and I could see the grass start moving as she started coming out of it for my buzzbait. Came completely out of the water and ended up diving under the boat once I got her close and the line rubbed the bottom of the boat and broke. Largest and strongest fish I've ever hooked i believe.

Oh I don't want to re-live it. I still get that sick feeling just thinking about it. 12-13 lbs a lake Fork on a Jig creek w demoed bridge. Uuuuuuuggggghhhhhh.

My buddy stuck one in the same spot I caught my sal the year before. Fish comes alongside the boat and it's equally as long as mine was (27") then she dives under the boat and out the other side but he forgets to shut off TM. Next time she jumps line is cutoff by tm. She was easily 12+ most likely 13+
