We we're fishing Montecello and had a good day and were about to leave. Just starting to idle out when I see a bed about the size of a coffee table next to a large lay down tree. My partner was driving and I said look at that and picked up my rod and flipped a Fluke right next to the lay down. Saw the fish turn around, What I could see was the tail flip. My bait landed right at her tail. It was 10-12 inches wide. Got a bump set the hook under the tree she goes two seconds and broke off. Still to this day I can see that tail.

Lake Toho while on vacation 2 years ago. First thing in the morning about 5 minutes into fishing hooked something heavy. Fought her out of the grass as she turned the boat slightly. She surfaced about 10' from the boat and could see the butterball gut. Bigger than Iv'e ever seen and I have several 10-11's. Fought her a few more seconds until she made a decision to change direction and head the other way..that's when it happened..went from playing tug of war to nothing on the end of the line. Many choice words were spoken. Guide estimated it at 13-14 as he has seen loads of 10+ bass in his boat in the 35 years guiding. Was tough to concentrate and fish the rest of the day and sleep that night.

Lake Fork in late May and the top water bite was on. We had caught a bunch of fish around 5 lbs that morning and the sun was getting up. We were in the back of Morgan creek and there was still a little bit of shade back there. I cast a Zara spook way back into this little pocket that was still shaded, and it got slurped off the surface. That fish was a hawg!! Biggest, strongest fish I have ever had a hook in. She came up about 4 times and I couldn't even slow her down. Threw the bait on the last jump. I have cast a Zara spook back in that little pocket about 789 times since then. Somewhere around 10 lbs. if you go on Google Earth and zoom in really close, you can hear me screaming "GET THE NET!! GET THE NET!!!"

I was realling in a crappie two years ago on the 515 bridge at fork and a monster ate it on the way up. As soon as she hit the surface she let go and left me with a 10 inch crappie. Will never forget it the rest of my life. I'm not even going to guess the weight but it was the biggest bass i had ever seen caught in person without a doubt.

If we are being for real....I lost what was probably my second biggest fish on Joe Pool last year. It was easily 11-12 pounds. Ive only felt that kind of fish a few times in my life.
I screamed like a baby after it broke off......I actually drove the boat over to the swim area close by to apologize to the park users for cussing and screaming so loudly. I had lost, by breaking off, another 9-10lb fish not 30 minutes earlier. I almost went home on that one. I was really mad for not refitting my hook often enough. I thought "dude...that's the best bite you'll get this year"....then, after calming down....I went flipping some more....then WHAM! Did it again.....that time....I went home. Later last year I caught my personal best...13.2 on Waco.
I haven't lost any huge ones since, but haven't caught anything over 7 pounds since.

Fishing the road bed off chaney point on Fork. I was sinking a jig next to EVERY stump I could see. Got out to the last group of stumps and thought I was hung, so I started popping my line, then noticed the line moving away from the tree. I set the hook, and this fish went from 15 foot to jumping at the surface faster than I could reel. She through the jig. Probably a 9.5-10, would have been my PB

Fishing Dale Creek at Lake Fork with my buddy but each had our own boat mid week. Bed fish everywhere and I was on a nice 7-8 lb'er when my friend pulls up about 50 yards away. I told him I saw another good one about 10 yards from me but couldn't tell how big. He gets there and says, "man this is a good fish. Are you sure you don't want to see it? "Nah, I'm on a good one." I catch mine...2 minutes later he yells, "got her!". 10.7.

It was my first trip to Sugar Lake in 2008, we fished with guide Chuy Morales. We were fishing humps with DD22's and the spot we were on had just fizzled out. I saw a single tree sticking up about 50 yards from where were so I asked Chuy to troll over and check it out. First cast, hook up with a 5ish pounder, comes to the surface spits my bait. Second cast, same thing, 5+ pounder comes to the surface and spit my bait. Third cast hook up, fish swims straight to the surface and throws the bait, I guessed 12+, Chuy said it was bigger. Fourth cast, hook and land a 6 pounder. Fifth cast hook and land an 8 pounder.
After I made those five casts Chuy and my budy decided they should probably cast on the spot. Chuy ended up catching a 9 and we caught probably 10-15 more fish in the 3-7 pound range off of this spot.
It was the most epic and heartbreaking 45 minutes of fishing in my life. I can still see that monstrous fish clear as day when I close my eyes.
