1996 225 EFI, rebuilt 5 years ago and less than 75 hours since then. Sluggish when by myself, takes 5-10 seconds to spool up, with a partner this morning it took over a minute of bogging down before kicking in. New plugs last week after it started, no difference. Can't get a mechanic on it before leaving for a T on Thursday, anything a mechanically challenged person like myself can check? Thanks, P_102

Those motors are very sensitive to engine temp if they don't get up to operating temp will cause a bogging problem and also if you idle around with the motor tucked all the way down it will cause a bog while idle set the engine level until ready to take off then tuck it down also could have problems with the fuel recirculation system.......Opti

First thing I would do is check each cylinder for spark. Find no spark, change the coil on that cylinder. These motors are real finicky on the Throttle position sensor setting.
