Inspired by the white bass spawn and a recent good fishing trip, I decided to tie up a few roadrunners with some rubber skirt material. I did one with a full skirt and others with just a few strands for flash. I recently had good luck with a black body grey marabou tail combo. It seems to be a reasonable imitation of the shad.

I will listen to the voice of experience. Point well taken. I do not intend to use these as flies. Biggest jig I would try to cast with the fly rod is 1/100 ounce.
