Some of y'all know, most do not, but my dad has been batteling Pancreatic cancer for a year now. We had chemo & radiation last year, went ok but didn't really do much to the tumor. January we visited with UTSW & MD Anderson, both prescribed the same treatment plan so we went with UTSW because of location. Well this new treatment is kicking his [censored]. Can't drink or eat anything cold, low blood platelets, low red & white blood cells, off & on fevers, dehydration, diarrhea, you name it he's got it.

We are currently in the hospital at UTSW, under the care of his oncologist. He's had 8 liters of fluid, 100mg of magnesium, a blood transfusion, and some other drugs. Dr's don't know what's causing the fever spiked, but they are progressively getting hotter, reached 102 today.

Anybody that can send knee mail I ask you to keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

On top of all this, we are trying to get his house ready for sale, move him in with us, build our new house and sell the current, and trying a new business venture.

Prayers are with you all. I see this nearly every day at work. Strong family support helps dearly. Be strong. Make sure you tell him how you feel. And what all he did for you growing up. Can tell he raised a good son and man.

Today he has been going from good to bad to good. Mainly his temp is giving him problems. Dr said if they can't get heart rate and temp under control then he will be moved to ICU

After watching my uncle battle lung cancer, I understand your frustration and concern. Prayers sent.

Spent the night in the room with him, he now has a low grade fever and heart rate is down in the low 100's. They have him a different antibiotic and it seemed to help.

I don't know how anybody can get better in a hospital with as much as they come in the room through the night. The nurses worked their butts off.

In a side note, don't ever have a sneezing fit while in the patients room when the nurse is in there. I sneeze all the time, normally between 10-15 every episode. Well last night it happened and the nurse kicked me out, thinking I had a cold. I got a damn flu swab and full check up before I was allowed back in

Dr said he will be there through the weekend. Likely moving to ICU so they can keep a closer eye on him. Wife is catching the red eye from Seattle so I will be living at the hospital for the remainder of his stay

My son is a serial sneezer too due to allergies. One night he had taken his allergy meds but was continuously sneezing. I think we had the windows open because it was really nice temps like we are having now. I finally had him put a damp washcloth over his face, closed up the house and turned the a/c on to finally get him to stop sneezing.

I passed out driving one day, scared the hell out of my passenger. She said I stopped sneezing after 21 and that only because I passed out. I started again when I woke up

Did she make you let her drive? I would have been driving or walking after that, lol.
