2015 GMC Sierra with 6.2 and 8 speed, I drive more country then city but I average over 20 mpg.

hopefully it stays in the $2s for a while. Looking at full size trucks again after driving mid size since 2004. Tundra is first choice but I have to consider MPGs. Like the GM 6.2 just not sure I want LTZ. Even looking at Titan +3 on hwy versus Tundra. If I knew that gas was staying low then choice would be easier. If thought that was true I probably would not own stock in Chevron.

If you are thinking Tundra you might wait for the updated truck.Supposedly will have an 8 or 10 seed tranny with different engine options aimed at mpgs.

Interested to see what they have coming. I heard they were working on a diesel option but they let it go because they weren't happy enough with the emissions systems reliability or something.

yep, that and the fact that our refineries are only set up to produce x amount of diesel. I am waiting at least until the 2018s come out. I do not think Toyota has any major changes planned until 2020. By then my current truck will have 150k on it. I prefer to sell a little lower mileage. Right now Gen2 Tacomas are hot items but it may not last forever.

I have heard the are not going with the diesel because of the price point they will be at and the supposed emission changing mandates.Who knows.

One owner Tacoma well maintained,doubt few extra miles will drop value much if a second gen...I am hearing a major redo for the 2019...but will have to see

maybe we will see. Watched a video on the 2018 today. Wrote an email to Toyota sales manager. Said new grill and fake hood scoop and still 17 mpg on hwy got to be kidding. Toyota is not committed to trucks. Also told him I would not touch a Gen3 Tacoma with a 10' pole.

Big pig, that's pretty good, but what was the driving like? I assume mostly highway.

My uncle just bought a brand new 3500 dually with the HO 6.7 cummins crew cab auto(the biggest one) with 4.10 gears. He put an aluminum flat bed on it and said his best tank so far is 14 and change, but he only has 5,000 miles on it.

Avg MPH is 37. That was a good combo of mixed city/hwy. never over 80mph

Your uncle is suffering because it's new, and because of the 4:10 & Aisin trans. He will likely see 16-17 as the max. I have the 3:42 gears, it does everything I need it to do just perfect

Did a down and back to Houston today, 75-80mph, averaged 22.5mpg with avg speed of 68mph

Just got a 17 RAM 1/2 ton 4x4 Hemi 1st fill at 100 miles just to verify onboard computer, most all highway 60-65 mph 23.1 mpg fingers crossed and hope it increases with break in, very pleased all around so far.

What transmission and rear axle do you have? That's almost too good to be true. But filling up at 100 miles leaves a lot of uncertainty. It it under-fills by much at all, your mpg can vary wildly with such a small amount driven.

2 weeks of commuting, one trip to the lake with the boat, and a day using it to position and reposition a man lift around the in-laws house while painting it.

619 miles on one tank

23.2 gallons to fill

26.68 mpg hand calculated.
