Adam I've done the same thing with not so great results . It's called a "deadman". I do much better with traditional trotlines . I think you can't even do that at certain points in the year on account of the lakes oxygen "flipping" and after a certain depth the fish are hooked and trapped at a specific depth, end result being you pull up a dead fish . Anybody is welcome to correct me if I'm wrong on that cuz I'm no where close to being a veteran to Trotlines lol just learning from mistakes and talking to old farts til I get it right ! Seems to be working great so far !! roflmao

Thanks , i was just curious how they hold up i use a mustad forged stainless 8/0 i think the # 34009 and its tough but i still get some straight, always looking for a better hook

after the success that we had this last week and weekend, I'll have lines out this next week. caught a lot of nice blues in 3-7 ft of water on cut bait. Then caught 31 channels this weekend in 1-3 ft of water also on cut shad.

That will work for the most part I think there staying shallow for now
