Yeah but when you're half way through a six pack and realize it's a whiskey night... sure is nice to call for a delivery.

If I call for a whiskey night something went south and both the house and dock are always stocked for either. Our problem comes when you say 2 people are coming and 8 show up bang That chit pisses me off

I am surprised Uber or Lyft or somebody like that hasn't gotten in delivery or beer delivery.

I do find it stupid that we have regulation on what time and days we can buy beer/wine or liquor.

I have been to many places that sell 24/7.

Sad, really sad.

Open your eyes & look within, are you satisfied with the life youre living.

No matter how good or bad you have it, wake up each day thankful for your life. Someone somewhere else is desperately fighting for theirs.

Drizzly delivers alcohol. Like everything, there's an App for that.

In 1977 Mr. Albert Miller built a trailer park south of Winfield (on the other side of I-30) and used the population to vote in the first "wet" area in Titus County since prohibition . Winfield followed suit in the '90s . It was a big deal down here in Baptist/CoC country with people who voted for alcohol being "churched" (barred from church fellowship) , voted out of office , etc.

Mt. Pleasant recently voted to allow the sale of beer and wine for off premise consumption in retail establishments such as grocery and convenience stores .

Sorry for the history lesson . wink My point was that I'm 5 minutes away from roughly 20 vendors so I don't need home delivery .

Interesting. Thanks for the info. Man, I'm gonna be a lot less bitter once all the old Baptists are gone.

You talkin' 'bout my Momma , boy . realmad grin

Seriously though : this area was rampant with 'shiners during the Prohibition era . The effects of non-regulated whiskey production on consumers is well documented . Add to that the fact that certain bloodlines ( Scot and Irish - I can say that without being racist because I are one) in the Bible Belt are more susceptible to alcoholism and it's pretty clear why preachers are so against any consumption whatsoever .

I Wish no ill will upon your mama, sir.

I get that those preachers have that hang up, but being a Baptist until I reached the age of reason, and being as Irish as anyone can be after 7 generations in Texas, and after them all having somehow married other Irish Texans, preachers can kiss my grits.
