I have not fished it this spring but will start on Saturday. Some reports say shallow. Others say 9-15'. We'll see.

I went last Friday and Saturday out of Buck with nary a nibble. But I'm completely new to crappie fishing so don't really know what I'm doing yet. Did see a guy pull one up from under the railroad bridge as I was idling through.

It was so dang windy on Sat and Sun that you could hardly fish. Caught a couple of small males shallow. I did not try anything other than shallow because I was looking for good places for when the females show up.

I cannot believe how much Ray Roberts has changed. The last time I fished it it was ten or twelve ft low. Totally different lake now.

It's a real cove. Don't know if it's named on maps anymore or not.

It was our go to spot for spawning bass and crappie back in the 90s.

And regarding directions I always went out Buck Creek and turned left. That is the quickest way to get to it for me.

Go 1.5 miles due east from the northern tip of wolf island and turn right. Or what Sanchez said

If I am on North end of Wolf Island I am going up Indian Creek. IMO best Creek on RR for Crappie and for reason it is because it is so hard to get too and such a jungle of lower unit wreckers when you get there. Fortunately I know it from the 922 Bridge out like the back of my hand and have never had any problems.

Oh wait....except for one Trolling Motor prop that exploded on me and a shear pin in my outboard. Not on the same trip though! LOL

I have fished Indian probably around 100 times for Crappie and I have seen less than five other crappie fishermen up there in all those years. It is even better at night and I have NEVER seen another Crappie Fishermen at night up there. Bass Fishermen make the trip but not Crappie.

That's funny, YSanchez, I went about halfway up Indian Saturday (having never been in that creek I idled through stumps the whole way including over a couple, that was fun) and I never saw a fin. I must REALLY suck at this. LOL!

Lots of some sort of fish but not many crappie. Caught about ten with one keeper. Also caught lots of channel cats, drum and under size sand bass. Fish finder did not show many fish on the bridge pilons and when I did catch them they were either Trash fish or undersize crappie.

Good luck.

John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.

I hired a guide last summer and took my dad. Caught lots of the smallest crappie and sandbass of my life.
I never go back.
