Looking like I am going to have Friday off and was thinking about hitting Ray Bob. I haven't been there in over a year. I don't want your honey hole just a starting point, water temp, clarity etc.
PM me if you need to keep it quiet.
thanks a million!

same questions here, headed next week. looking on water temps, stage of spawn by chance and possibly clarity. don't care to much about certain spots just a generalized starting point would be appreciated. We are coming from Kansas and have 3 days to figure it out is all.

They still in pre spawn stage right now. With the new noon coming this weekend and the warm trend this week night see a few moving up. Water temps this last weekend I saw 58- to 62 (at the most, mainly 59- 60) degrees. Just go up a creek about half way back and look for cover. one to three FOW. Water starting to clear up since it has been a while since we have any rain. Been hitting on Flukes and spinner baits. The lake been in a little bit of a funk since the last cold spill but should be getting better by the end of week if the weather holds up. Good luck!

I'm certainly no expert on Roberts-had my hiney handed to me too many times on that lake! Went yesterday from daylight to 11:30 am and managed only 1 dink in the boat on about 7 bites. They were hitting it real lightly, almost like they weren't feeding. Maybe male bass protecting the nest, I don't know. Saw a few spots that I thought probably were nests but never saw a single fish up shallow . Couldn't buy a top water bite, rattle trap bite and no jig fish ( usually a "go to " for me). Only bits I got were on a Chartreuse Watermelon senko bait with a little Romex wire added for weight. Fished Buck - which was stained but in good shape and Airplane- also in stained condition. Hope this helps !

I just got back. Water in Sand was 62 and looking good. Fish still have not moved up solid. If you graph the main creek channels on Sand and Lick you will see an incredible amount of bait with suspended fish. I think that is where the bass are waiting. Why move up when you can suspend in 25 feet of water and eat all the shad you want without trying? Just my opinion.

Fish in all stages. IMO the first decent size wave just pulled up. Water 73 degrees this evening. I sight fished a 4 pound smallmouth for the first time in my life which was neat.

fishing with my 7 year old son this year, so it is mainly just for him to experience the excitement. we zero'd at cedar creek, but gave her hell until my lower unit failed. at one point we were both just sitting on the front deck eating lunch, dragging shaky heads by log cabin, with the radio up loud. most fun i've had in years.
