Took the son in law out for some fun fishing. Joe Pool was good to us today.

Where ya fishing? I went out Saturday morning for a couple of hours and just got 2 small ones. I was in the coves on the east side down from the launch at Cedar Hell SP using brush hogs close to the bank in cover, or square bills out in the cove. There were hitting the surface out in the middle of the cove right after day break, but I only got one of them there. I was hoping for more action as I was one of the 1st boats out on the lake.

We fished the west side coves and creeks near Loyd Park. Very few fish were caught on moving baits. Most fish were caught on Texas rigs, shallow.

Good to see! You'd think they'd be spawning now with the water temps but I truly believe they are just pushing up.

There behind on the spawn. I saw water as warm as 70 degrees Saturday. Didn't see any beds or males cruising. All my fish came in the first half of the coves in the thickest trees I could find.

Probably my problem. I was fishing Trigs but pretty deep in the coves. Caught smaller bass on square bills more in the middle. I have so much to learn.
