Dallas can't even have a decent boat show... highly doubtful they'll ever pony up the funds to host a Bassmaster tourney

Dallas would be a preferred location. Fish Lewisville or better and closer is Ray Hubbard, then have the Expo at the Kay Bailey Dallas Convention Center and Saturday & Sunday in the American Airlines Center a few blocks aay. They could weigh in there Friday in the Kay Bailey Coliseum as it holds about 7000 to 8000.
The Mavericks would have to have an out of town weekend and it could definitely top Houston. DFW would help as everyone could get in there reasonable.
It doesn't matter how the Dallas Boat Show is because that's a priority thing. The Dallas show has dealers outside of their membership group locked out of space inside. A Classic does not depend on any local group for involvement, it is all National Companies and Corporate space leased. Nothing is local other than they work with those companies.
There was a drive to go to Dallas and we would love to see it. Though several years ago Dallas did not see the event as a large enough draw at the time. They have the reservoirs, location, facilities and the space.
Wish it were!

It might take a few more years for BASS to erase the 2016 TTBC from their memory.

BCB Yea good luck getting the City of Dallas fickle gubment supporting it, let alone promoting it. I seam to remember once upon a time BASS elimination tourney was held on Richland Chambers and the top ten finished on White Rock Lake that turned out to be a failed bit. Hummmmm

Doubt it. DFW area has never supported BASS tournaments. I've been to every tournament they have had in the area and the TTBC and no one shows up from our area.
I hate photobucket.

DFW lakes are not big enough to support a large tournament crowd.

It might take a few more years for BASS to erase the 2016 TTBC from their memory. What a horrible disaster that was. Who ever was responsible for that should be never try to stage a BASS event again. What idiot decided to charge $25 to just walk in the exhibits where METROPCS was trying to sell phone plans, and the weigh in being in the corner of the stadium was stupid. It looked like maybe 2000 people showed up on Saturday.

The city of Dallas would never spend the money to attract any fishing tournament, that doesn't fit the "agenda" of the puppet masters who run the city...

Has to be a perfect storm and I'm honestly surprised that Houston along with Conroe pulled this off. I also think it might be a stretch to get these fish from Conroe to Minute Maid Park and then back to the lake in a survivable shape or even just to the weigh-in without delays. Traffic will be a challenge in the 4th largest city in the US with the time and distance equation. Traffic (Houston ranked #11 in the US, DFW #34): http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/morni...st-traffic.html
