I was there last week and mainly fished around the Highport area. Caught quite a few spots, a few largemouth and one big smallmouth primarily fishing points in protected coves. Quite a few sandbass and the occasional small striper as well. A couple weeks before that I fished the Eisenhower area primarily targeting smallmouth with very little luck, went into the marina and fished the boat slips for a couple hours and caught quite a few largemouth and spots but nothing over 3 or 4 pounds.

"The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad."

Thanks for the report.Sounds like you did ok. May try going to Texoma instead of Amistad. Whole lot closer .

Very good report, good stuff.

I sure would like to see some red dirt again and fish Texoma. long way from Houston or my place on Rayburn. So many tournament boats on Rayburn this weekend I did yard work.

I report like this about Rayburn would have caused a stir!!

Would like to get shook loose from work in April and take week off may head North and fish Texoma. Nothing wrong with fishing Rayburn and Toledo but would like to see something different.

If I can get my better half to agree and not want to go to Frederickburg and sniff candles.

Thanks, Billy

No better place for smallies in Texas, IMO. There was a 5.5 caught by some striper fishermen last week. That's a good smallie anywhere.
