Scheduled some time off to spend time with my son this spring break. Gonna head down to Whitney to chase some stripes. Question is is the McCown ramp useable and is it open 24 hours. Also what is the ramp fee if any? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Only fished Whitney a few times and have launched at state park and I think loafers or whatever ramp is on the south end. Hopefully I will have something to report back about.

Mcowan, Loafers AND Cedron are all good. Corps of Eng. charges 4-5 bucks I think. I buy an annual pass.

They usually leave open and leave a note on your truck to pay when leaving. Nice folks around there. I always leave a note on office if im going in early. But sometimes they don't gey up early to open for you. So its a gamble. There are a few not so desirable ramps open 24 hrs if interested pm me. I bowhunt that lake so I know many. 6 am dousnt cut it when your in a kayak

McCown, Steele creek and Cedron all closed. Was able to launch by 6:20 and only able to catch a few shad but it was enough to put some quality fish in the boat. Anyone know of anything open before 6:00 am?
