Great...I'm taking my first trip to Amistad in a month....I know it's not the same area on the border but if my wife sees this I'll have to hear about it all month!

Loooong way from Amistad. Lots of gang/cartel/human smuggling activity in this area of Starr County. Doubtful that these three were simply "fishermen".

Yes, but be careful what the news reports. I seriously doubt the guys shot AT NIGHT near the State Park were there to fish. In fact, what little evidence I've heard indicates they were not.

And if these three were on the river AT NIGHT, I doubt they were legitimate fishermen, too.

When i was a kid at the deer camp there was always a small group of guys that went fishing everyday. It was always after dark, they never had any rods or reels, always carried with them a small tupperware container, and you could often hear one asking the others if they had the papers. Those guys fished hard EVERY time out and they never brought any fish back.

I felt bad for them as a kid.

I agree

Most of these shootings do not involve your average bass angler minding his own business. still sad, but if your out fishing during day light and stay smart you wont have any issues
